Wow... I'm Really Here...

November 27-30, 2008

The theme of the trip seems to be speeding shuttle drivers. The one that drove to JFK was managed to get to JFK in under 2 hours which included a gas stop. The driver that picked me up at the airport ran red lights driving to the hotel. (But that maybe just me not knowing the Korean driving laws... hopefully.)

The emotions were going in overdrive. There was not a dry eye when I was dropped off at the shuttle bus. It was like I didn't care that there were other people around. Then again when i sitting on the tarmac, it started allll over again. Except this time I was inconspicuous about it.

There was 5 hours of waiting at the airport.
7.30pm-Arrived at JFK
9.00pm-Check-in counters open
12.20am-Boarding Plane

I was the only person in my row. (woohoo) The lady sitting in front of me seemed to think that reclining 2 of the 3 seats would be kosher. HA. The plane is pretty empty so I don't care that one seat was completely pushed back but with 2 I could barely move around my little area.

Despite what people say about plane food, Korean Air served yummy food.

Dinner: bibimbap Breakfast: Rice Porridge/fruit/daikon radish

The plane traveled up and over Canada (which I completely slept through), then over Russia and worked its way down to Korea. I woke up as we approached Russia I looked out the window and what do i see... THE NORTHERN LIGHTS!!!!!!! It was hard to see even with the cabin completely dark. ::Crossing that of the life-long to-do list:: For all you folk that plan on visiting me make sure to look out the window as you fly over Canada.

The onboard entertainment was extensive. There were movies, CD's, and games! Even if you don't sleep a wink on the 13+ hours there's plenty to do. Movies I watched... Indiana Jones and Journey to the Center of the Earth. Both were OK, nothing that I missed when they were in theaters though.

Yeah!!! I'm so happy you had a great travel there! Wow, we both got so very lucky! It is so hard to say goodbye, that is the worst, but also the best because you make that time to tell your loved ones exactly how you feel about them.

Yeah for perfect travels!!!
