Parents Class

Once a week on Monday afternoon I teach to a group of 7 moms. I spent all afternoon Sunday trying to find a book that we can study from. During the Oxford Seminars course we discussed how to pick a textbook but I didn't think I'd have the opportunity but lo and behold... It was much harder than I expected because everyone's level ranges from beginner to intermediate/advanced. I knew I couldn't appease everyone but I'll try to find some middle ground.

I based my textbook selection on the following....
  1. Not Childish.
  2. Colorful, if there's no pictures/color its a complete turnoff.
  3. Not too expensive
  4. Light. Personally if I was buying a Korean textbook I'd buy something that I don't mind carrying around

I settled on this book, it was only 9,000 원 and it consisted of a vocabulary booklet, a Korean translation (for the beginners) and 2 booklets of short readings.

Now I just have to make a schedule for the semester... Oi.

Could I take a look at that the next time we hang out. I'm training teachers in my district and the higher English level teachers were a piece of cake, but I'm sort of at a loss with the ones that hardly understand what I'm saying.

Sure. Just remind me to bring the book... But I'm still trying to figure out how to manage the multiple levels in class...
