Warranties are usually not worth anything because the device will always break AFTER the warranty period. However, in Korea and probably other parts of the world the manufacturer will have AC (After Care) Centers, where regardless of the warranty you can take your device to get fixed. No need to mail it in! My camera has been acting up so I took it to the Canon AC Center (which is conveniently located by the Juan (주안, exit 12) station. When I couldn't understand what he was saying I asked him to write it down. Basically the replacement/repair cost (교체 수리비용)will be 60-70,000 Won. Just like in a sitcom, when I turned on the camera to show him that the buttons don't work, of course it worked. The Canon techs will examine it and give me a call on Monday so give me the verdict.
I've branched out on my subway rides to Line 1... Apparently there are express trains, because I rode on one... However, I'm not sure how to tell if its a local or express train. It doesn't matter because the express stops at Bupyeong and Juan.
