Elementary School : Grades 1-6
Middle School: Grades 1-3
High School: 1-3
Once they are in Middle/High School they say "grade 1, middle/high school". The grades are not continuously counted 1st - 12th grade.
All the 6th graders came to school today to find out which middle school they are going to. (I believe its determined based on where you live...) Then everyone lines up in the schoolyard and a teacher walks them to their new school where they will have orientation.
